I believed he wanted to change. When we started counseling I knew it was going to get better but it didn’t. The abuse got worse. I was encouraged by the counselor to reach out to Passaic County Women’s Center. I was hesitant at first, called a few times and hung up. When I was finally able to make the step to speak with an advocate and she introduced me to the Power and Control wheel I realized I was experiencing an extreme amount of abuse.
